Nuance Communications updated on Tuesday its Dragon Mobile Assistant app for Android with a new Driver Mode and voice notifications features that determine when users are driving and help them remain focused and hands-free.
Dragon Mobile Assistant, the self-dubbed most accurate and intelligent virtual assistant on Android, lets Android users enjoy speech-to-text and text-to-speech functionality like dialing, texting, launching apps, and more. Dragon Mobile simply accesses information, content, apps, music and people - just by the sound of a user's voice.
However, with today’s update to 4.0, Nuance, the brains behind powerful voice-recognition technology in many mobile products, has added new capabilities that detect when a user is traveling in a moving car.
If moving, the Dragon app will now auto-launch a Driver Mode and keep the user's mind on the road. In other words, when in Driver Mode, the app will only recognise and respond to voices. No hands allowed.

The update has added even more capabilities due to Driver Mode like dictation for email, voice notifications that read Facebook status updates, messages, incoming calls, etc., and the option to choose how to wake up Dragon with a customisable word. It also includes general stability and performance fixes.
Version 4.0 is a major facelift for Android fans of Nuance's Dragon Mobile Assistant, as the new features help to make Android handsets essentially more hands-free - no matter the situation.
